Unity Campus is a Science Park in Sawston, Cambridge. Phase 1 repurposed existing concrete frame buildings on the site. I was involved in Phase 2, which saw the construction of three new CAT-A Office buildings, all built to BREEAM Excellent rating.
I worked alongside Morgan Sindall to design and build the new buildings, providing acoustic design advice for the construction of internal walls, floors, building envelope and critical interface detailing. In addition to this, advice on finishes was required for shared use areas. All buildings were designed in accordance with BS8233 to achieve the credits available for BREEAM.
Additionally, assessment of the plant noise for new items of plant was required to both satisfy planning requirements and to achieve the POL05 credit under BREEAM.
Once completed, AJA were appointed to provide acoustic design advice for the fit-out of Building A2, which I continued to provide.
